Dr Patrick Tan: What to Know
Dr Patrick Tan is a medical doctor who finished his MD, PhD in Stanford University. He was awarded the Young Scientist Award for his work in genetic research. Tan is known for co-leading an investigation into the functions and impact of genes in the body in terms of the development of gastric or stomach cancer.
Tan is a member of the Bioethics Advisory Committee (BAC) and the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI). BAC is a national body that offers advice to the Singaporean government on ethical problems associated with biomedical research. From 2013 to present, Tan is the senior group leader at the Genome Institute of Singapore.
